About Us

SKOK – Student Club of Business and Competitiveness

SKOK is a student organization operating at the University of Economics and Business in Prague (VŠE), under the Faculty of International Relations since 2014. Our goal is to provide educational and networking opportunities, helping students develop not only their professional skills through workshops, lectures, excursions, and simulations, but also their organizational and teamwork abilities by getting involved in the club’s activities. By connecting students with companies and industry experts, we help them prepare for their future careers and succeed in the global job market.

In short, we offer ambitious students a chance to gain the skills that will keep them one SKOK (leap) ahead.

As our name suggests, connecting students with the world of business and commerce is at the heart of what we do. Our flagship event, the Business Cocktail, gives ambitious students a unique opportunity to be inspired by experienced professionals and alumni. Past guests have included Helena Horská (Chief Economist at Raiffeisenbank), Filip Dřímalka (Founder of Digiskills and Aibility), David Procházka (Founder of Donio), Tadeáš Kula (Founder of Reknihy), and many others. In 2024, we expanded the event into English to reach international students and continue the successful tradition of the Czech version.

We regularly organize various workshops, both internal and external, focusing on topics such as work-life balance, conflict management, presentation skills, and other areas of personal and professional development. We believe that every effort towards personal growth is valuable, and we’re always open to hosting or co-hosting workshops across different fields.

Last but not least, our members organize international trips and excursions to global business institutions and organizations. In the past, we have visited the World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations (UN), and CERN in Geneva, as well as the OECD headquarters in Paris.

P.S. International students are warmly welcome!
